The Hometown Christmas & Parade - It Was A Night of Magic!
On Saturday, November 18, 2023, the new decorations in the town funded by the Oakmont Holiday Light Campaign lit the way for the Hometown Christmas & Parade hosted by the Oakmont Chamber of Commerce. This event kicked-off the holiday season with a night full of activities on Allegheny River Boulevard in Oakmont. Guests enjoyed good food and drinks, entertainment, shopping, a 42 unit parade, Trolley rides (to/from Santa’s favorite cookie stop, the Oakmont Bakery), a drone show sponsored by the Borough of Oakmont, and yes…Santa! It was estimated that over 3,000 (some think it was much higher) attended this event. A team of volunteers prepared for this signature event working like elves around the clock. Even students from the Riverview High School earned community service hours as volunteers.

To the Chamber Members who participated along the boulevard and opened their shops to welcome guests for the evening, the talented Stage Performers and the enthusiastic parade participants. The parade contest winners were: Best Float - Hair by Jeanne for Mrs. Clause at Santa’s workshop with elves. Best Decorated Firetruck - Thad Stevens VFD (Penn Hills) and Best in Show - Wheelin Up-Right, Jeep brigade. Each category winner received $200.
